Not All Sex Lives are Created Equal
The last time I was on the BE HAPPY DAMMIT radio show with host Karen Salmansohn, she said she's always felt that feminists should really be called "equatists." True feminists are not militant manhaters who want women to take over the world; we just want to be treated the same way men are treated.
And to further dispel the myth that feminists hate men, there's been a new study published in the "Sex Roles" journal (boy, there's a journal for everything) stating that feminism boosts sexual satisfaction for both women and men. Feminists have happier love lives.
This study doesn't actually surprise me at all: Women who feel more empowered are more likely to ask for what they want (in bed or otherwise). And--while even the most empowered women say that doing so can be intimidating--men say they actually prefer being told what to do in bed.
What do you think?
I find that study to be very interesting and I think it's not hard to see how feminism plays a role in relationships. I also think it makes it easy to see that, IMO, the reason couples fight so much over money, chores, etc., all boils down to a desire for equality.

I like to say what I want, some men find it a turn on, but others, probably insecure ones, thinks it means I don't like what they're doing. Okay well, it kind of does, but I'm TELLING you how to fix it and do what I like so we can BOTH be satisfied... oh well
Ooh I believe it, men definitely won't mind being told what to do in bed as long as they are in bed and doing something (catch my drift?-wink wink nudge nudge)
But seriously, why is it that the word "feminist" has such an negative connotation?
i love tellin a man what to do in bed. it not only turns him on it turns me on! i feel sexy when i can tell a man how to satisfy me. try it!!
Here, here. I love asking for what I want. I've never had a man who wasn't more than happy to oblige.
