Hippie Valentine's Day!
I just received this press release, and it's just too good not to share...
Milliken Creek Inn & Spa, located in Napa Valley, California, was just named to the 2008 Conde Nast Gold List in the best room category. Beyond that, we have put together a few very innovative packages that go way beyond the typical chocolate and strawberries: How about a release of butterflies to signify rebirth?
The sad thing is, at $125 for a dozen butterflies, it's too expensive to do as a joke. (But don't let that stop you from suggesting it as a joke!)
I actually attended a wedding recently where they released butterflies when the couple emerged from the church (in place of the traditional rice, etc.) and the sad thing was since the butterflies are shipped frozen (ewww) several of them were too stunned to fly and the crowd was left to tiptoe around the butterflies that littered the sidewalk to avoid stepping on them. Not exactly the symbolism the couple was looking for I'm thinking.
