You've Got the Write Stuff... Baby

(Just kiddin' with that title.)

This morning I received a press release claiming that 2008 is The Year of the Love Letter:

With blockbusters like Atonement and P.S. I Love You in theaters—both of which have plots based on the powerful causes and effects of letters—letter writing is making a comeback.
I'm a bit old-fashioned, granted, but I think a note "addressed by hand," as my mentor would say, is one of life's best simple pleasures. There's just something about knowing that your favorite guy sat down with the sole purpose of telling you why he thinks you're dreamy. (Again, kidding.)

So, tell us:

Have you ever written a love letter? (Email doesn't count!)

  • Yes.
  • No.

My first serious relationship was long distance (he was in the Navy) so we mostly wrote letters to one another. It was nice, back then, to get mail that was fun and not bills! :)

Not only have I written them, but I've received them, AND I have them in protective sleeves inside a vinyl binder to keep and treasure forever. :)

I'm one for always leaving cute lil'love notes on the guy's pillow whenever i leave his apartment or just anywhere i think he'd find it.They really do appreciate it and it def speaks volumes when it's handwritten. Has that certain special something..you know? :)

I still have love letters dating back to the days when I was in college! I loved receiving them and sending them. Hubby and I still leave love notes for each other from time to time.

I can't deny I'm all in favor of letter-writing, from kids to lovers, it should be encouraged.

However, the USPS has once again hiked its rates and stamps are now 42 cents a pop. Pretty soon, it will be cheaper to hire someone to hand deliver your mail!
