The Princess and the Peeve

Did you see me at that Tempur-Pedic Mattress event the other day?  I was the one lying on the bed with the "rejuvenating massage" feature chanting, "Luh-Luh-Luh-Luuuuuuke.  I am your faaaaaather,"  then making reference to the vibrating beds in movie motel scenes.  ("Kinky!")

Fortunately everybody's favorite publicist, Ginny, knows just what she's getting herself into when she invites me to her company's events.

There was a lot of talk of Tempur-Pedic's lack of "motion transfer," though.  (You know those mattress commercials where there's a glass of wine sitting pretty on one half of the bed while someone drops a bowling ball on the other side and the wine doesn't spill?  Yeah, that.)  Any restless sleepers out there?  Do you ever worry that you might be waking your guy with your tossing and turning?  Well, I am and I do.  Yet I don't even think "motion transfer" (or lackthereof) even crossed our minds when we bought our mattress last year.  Oops.

They also had a stress expert who talked about what being tired can do to someone who's usually a clear thinker... which is why I'm so anti the "never go to bed angry theory!"  It's such a pet peeve of mine.  I've woken up from a good night's sleep after a silly fight saying, "So, um, remind me: What were we fighting about?"  As the stress expert says, sleeping six to eight hours just gives you better perspective on things.  (Plus, the beauty expert says it fights crow's feet!)

So glad to hear the event was fun! And I couldn't agree more about going to bed angry and forgetting what the argument was about in the first place. I hate that.

I think about motion transfer, but only in the sense that maybe if I transfer enough motion to his side, he'll stop #$%^@ snoring! ;)
