There's a new book coming out today about a couple who had sex for more than 100 days in a row after 11 years of marriage and two kids: Just Do It: How One Couple Turned Off the TV and Turned On Their Sex Lives for 101 Days (NO EXCUSES!). 

Moms on the iVillage message boards are always asking each other for recommendations on finding "intimate time." (I guess that's the earmuffs way to say S-E-X.)  But they also complain that they're so exhausted by the time the kids go to bed, they're asleep before their head hits the pillow.  If they find a rare, spare 30 minutes or so, they often admit they'd rather spend it alone or connecting with their husband emotionally rather than physically.

But, according to the facts the Today show listed in their segment with the author and his wife the other day—and according to Dr. Gail Saltz—the couple might have the right idea:   

• "Average married couple has sex 66 times a year"
• "Young married couples have sex 84 times a year"
• "About three to four percent of married people have a sexual partner other than their spouse"
• "About 200 calories are burned during 30 minutes of active sex"
• "Frequent sex means lower mortality rates"
