I Carried a Watermelon?
In honor of the Fourth of July, here's a fun bit of trivia about everyone's favorite picnic food: Watermelon may have Viagra-like effects. Dr. Bhimu Patil, director of Texas A&M’s Fruit and Vegetable Improvement Center in College Station, says watermelon contains a nutrient called citrulline, which is converted to an amino acid, arginine, when eaten. He goes on to say that, “Arginine boosts nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels, the same basic effect that Viagra has, to treat erectile dysfunction and maybe even prevent it."
So don't just eat your vegetables. Eat your fruits, too! (Guys, this means you.)
Happy and safe Fourth, everyone!

I shared this story with the women in my family this weekend and we all started laughing when hubby brought out the watermelon. He was confused until Mama explained and then he chucked the watermelon on the counter, handed one of my bil's the knife and said, "I don't need any help in that department, so eat up, [bil's name]." LOL ;)
