The iVillagers on our Betrayed Spouses Support message board are talking about this recent article: "Peter Cook Blames Christie Brinkley for His Affair." Yes, really:
"In an interview set to air Friday on ABC's "20/20," he says he cheated on the supermodel because "I was seeking a connection I could not find in my own marriage."Do you think the cheater is always to blame? Is there ever a circumstance in which the cheater's spouse is at fault? Will you watch the Barbara Walters interview tonight?

A spouse can contribute to an environment in which someone wants to start looking elsewhere for something that's missing from their marriage, but at the end of the day we all need to own the choices we make. Christie Brinkley did not make Peter Cook have sex with another woman, he made the choice to do that all on his own, and he needs to man up and take responsibility for having made that choice.
